Andreas Christodoulou needs no recommendations. He is a bright, unique chapter for the Cypriot basketball and as he grows he will continue to leave his mark. Some people may ignore the fact that he started playing basketball in Cyprus before he made it to Olympiakos Pireaus. CyprusBasket.net arranged a tribute for the international Cypriot star.

Born on February 22, 1995 in Limassol. His height is 1.97m with a wide span and long arms. .Basketball became his life from a young age and from the age of 5 he made his first basketball steps with his father Chrysos who is an accomplished ex basketball player and played in many teams such as Ael and Apoel. He then moved to AEL where his talent was easily noticed.

Being part of Aels roster the “queen” of Cyprus basketball he accomplished many individual and team achievements. In 2009 he joined Apoel where he played alongside Sasha Vezenkov. He won the Pancyprian School basketball championship and after he moved to Greece.

In Thessaloniki he exploded his basketball skills to another lever and many considered him as the successor of Kostas Sloukas and as a result hi signed with Olympiakos proving to everyone back home and everyone around the world that his hard work paid off. Now time is on his side and he will prove once again how good he is on the floor.

Despite his huge capabilities Olympiakos could only offer him few minutes on the court and as a result they released him to sign a two year contract with Rethymno under the direction of well-known Cypriot coach Tony Constantinides.
To have Vassilis Spanoulis as your teammate is a dream for every young basketball athlete in particular when he is your favorite Greek player. Andreas Christodoulou also follows the NBA and is a big fan of Kobe Bryant. Lastly he shared with cyprusbasket.net the admiration he has for the “bomber” Juan Carlos Navarro .

Cyprusbasket.net wish Andreas a healthy and evolving basketball year. All the best to our rising star.
