He has leadership skills and basketball analysts can speculate a bright future for the rising star especially if he will manage to improve his minor weaknesses. Cyprusbasket.net is always next to our young basketball diamonds and one of them is Apollonas BC player Poly Eliades.

Polys was born on March 20, 2000 and has a height of 1.83m. He started playing basketball at the age of six. His first stop was none other than Apollon Limassol. Certainly the influence of his father, a well known basketball coach played a role in the deal with Apollon but the choice was clearly his. He had an interest in football as well but the orange ball became his madness. He always looked up to his brother and was eager to go watch him play.

Polys Eliades won three provincial junior championships in Limassol but the highlight of his young career was the gold medal with Cyprus National Team, where he was also voted as Cyprus most valuable player (MVP). In addition he was voted in the best starting lineup of the whole tournament and for two consecutive years he was voted the best U16 basketball player in Cyprus.

His father together with Michael Michael and Anthony Demetrius was Cyprus coaching team and had a successful partnership in order to bring the gold medal. Stephen Eliades is his favorite Cypriot player, along with the leader of the National Panagiotis Trisokka, whom he admires for his passion and soul that gives within the court. He watches Euroleague and NBA basketball and loves Dimitris Diamantidis and Kobe Bryant. He needs to change his idols now since both basketball legends retired. The prospect of Poly Iliadis is great. This gifted shooter and scorer, will thrive if developed in the right way and basketball authorities have a duty to protect and invest in talents like “young Poly”. Apollon limassol is lucky to have him as an asset.

Cyprusbasket.net wishes Polys good luck and to keep working and developing as a person and as a basketball player
