While in Karpenisi both Antonis Fotsis and Vassilis Charalampoopoulos spoke to the radio station “Karpenissi 97.5” regarding the course of Panathinaikos preparation, the new acquisitions and of course for the legend Dimitris Diamantidis.
Finally, they sent their own message to the fans Fotsis: For many years we have been coming to Karpenisi and funnily I can’t remember the first time I was here. Every time is nice here and we feel like home here. If they told me that I would be part of this team for so many years I wouldn’t believe it. I am very happy about it and I hope that in the future things will be even better. Panathinaikos has high goals, and wants to compete in all competitions in Greece and Europe and we have to work hard for this.
I believe that the players that were added to the roster give hope to our fans for something great. There are players who came and were protagonists in their teams. I hope they will do what they used to do in their teams and better of course.
Diamantidis is a player who has offered and has accomplished everything in Panathinaikos in all these years. He was our leader and is certainly a great loss, but that’s life. Currently Dimitris decided to stop basketball and we must learn as Panathinaikos to continue without him.
People expect you to get on the court and give everything. We have a good team, we know who we are and we will try to manage something good to give joy to our fans”
Charalampopoulos: “For the last five we have been visiting Karpenisi and I have to admit that everything is excellent here . All the people of the region help us so as not to miss anything and we can do our job as best as we can, and do not stop to show us their support. Surely it is too early to talk about goals, because we are still in the building phase of the team but we all know what Panathinaikos means.
Diamantidis was everything. He offered so many things to Panathinaikos and to Greek sports in general. This tournament is a great opportunity to say thank you to him and a good opportunity to get people to the stadium for the first time this season. “
